Why high price?
At the beginning, it was very difficult to make a price for name links on CenturyNameMuseum.com. In fact, per Half Name was priced at 19$ and 9$ per Full Name when I completed my web.
But I noted that anybody could buy up the names of famous people and hold them for ransom or set a link to the contents that was intended to insult and slander, etc., and to avoid the above, I think a higher price would be helpful. Because I do not want to check everyone's identity before they buy and won't involve me in any dispute. I am a peaceful man ;-)
Also, I think my web may attract advertisers, because if you pay once then can hold a name link for life. For an advertiser, you can put the name of company's creator into logo. This would bring more credits to you and your company, and I think it is an interesting ads type.
At last, per Half Name was priced at 399$ and 199$ per Full Name. For individuals, this may be price out of the market, but for companies, it is cheap.
And I always open the door for those individuals who run benevolent orgs. On CenturyNameMuseum.com, there has only one criterion to put people's name link for free and including designing free logo, that's kindness, goodness, courage, contribution, etc.
What I decide to do is always for the purpose of long term running
